Financial Assistance

Revolving Loan Fund
The Cooperative has established a revolving loan fund (RLF) to improve the quality of life in rural areas by contributing to long-term improvement in the local economy.  The RLF is a local funding source with a goal of providing low interest loans to assist with local economic and community development projects.  Our priorities include job creation and retention, diversification of the local economy, improving the skills of the rural workforce and upgrading the public infrastructure to improve the health and safety of rural residents.  This fund is administered by the Cooperative’s Board of Directors.

A minimum of 20% of the project must be funded from equity or debt sources other than the RLF.  Loan amounts must meet minimum ($5000) and maximum ($200,000) limits.  Interest rates will not exceed the prevailing prime rate and terms will vary based on collateral offered up to a maximum of 10 years.

Intermediary Relending Program
Through our power supplier, CIPCO, we have access to an Intermediary Relending Program (IRP) to provide low interest loans to assist with local economic and community development projects following similar goals as with the RLF previously mentioned.

Minimum and maximum loans range from $50,000 to $150,000 with a 3-5% interest rate.  The maximum loan term is 10 years with the specific length generally based on the collateral offered.  A minimum of 50% of the project must be funded from equity or debt sources other than the CIPCO IRP.

The fund currently targets projects in Jones, Jackson, Buchanan and Clinton Counties in the Maquoketa Valley Electric Cooperative service area.

Rate Design
The Cooperative encourages business growth by rewarding the company’s ability to reduce our peak load through start-up incentives, affordable rates and reliable service.  Provide us with your estimated electrical load characteristics and we will work to determine the best rate for your project.
